2019 Expenditures to benefit animals:

Medical expenses for homeless cats (including foster kitten care and injured or sick animals)                                                           $7,334

Kitten transport (to a partner rescue in Maryland for greater adoption opportunities)                                                                              $900

Heart worm subsidies (to assist adopters of dogs needing

LASS is seeking additional volunteers to exercise dogs at the shelter. Can you spare a couple hours a week to give the dogs a break from their kennels? For more information, please call Ann Richardson at (704)891-1890.

LASS President, Arlene McCarthy, and LASS Shelter Liaison, Ann Richardson, have been appointed to the Advisory Board for the new Lancaster County Animal Shelter. The advisory board also includes Sara Phillips and Dr. Brent Glenn, DVM. The new shelter is under construction on Hwy 9 in Lancaster near the DMV. It's expected to open in late 2020.
